La délégation nîmoise aux Mondiaux de K1 à Milan en novembre. MIDI LIBRE
The Nîmes martial arts club had two things to celebrate: the K1 amateur world championships in Milan, where it shone, and its thirtieth anniversary…
Two young world champions and two vice-champions: for its 30th anniversary, the Nîmes Muaythai, created in 1994, returned from Milan and the WFBC K1 amateur world championships (a discipline similar to kick-boxing) with its arms full of gifts. “I am very proud of my team. Every weekend, we travel around France, sometimes Europe, we even return to Milan in February. The work is rewarded”, rejoices Hassan Ramzi, the club manager.

Kamelia Ramdani (17) is also crowned in juniors, in 55 kg.
The two “old guards”, Armando Dollani (28 years old) and Qudratullah Azizi (23) lost in the final and are vice-world champions. The first, who has been at the club for eight years, fought in 75 kg in sanda, a derivative of K1 (with MMA projections). A novelty and a defeat against an Italian for Dollani, who is now starting a professional career. As for the second, an Afghan refugee, he lost his 2023 world title by losing to a formidable Egyptian.
Océane Geynet (14 years old), for her first competition, and Hamza el Kouhiou (17 years old, 70 kg), who had learned of his grandfather's death the day before but who went up to fight for him, did not get past the semi-finals.
The Nîmes delegation returned from Italy to celebrate its champions in its stronghold of Chemin-bas, Jean-Moulin gymnasium, with more than 200 children from Gard, Hérault and Vaucluse for educational assaults. And the anniversary of the club, founded thirty years ago by former boxer Moustapha Oumrani and Christian Panzani.
Hassan Ramzi was a young fighter at the time. Since then, “we have trained (in martial arts, editor's note) three future doctors and five engineers”, specifies Ramzi. These too are great rewards.
