A new urban transport network will soon replace the current Transports urbains mendois (TUM). It was presented this Tuesday, December 11, 2024 by the coach operators of the Boulet group, the Hugon company, and the municipal services, including the mayor Régine Bourgade.
This new transport network, Max Mende mobilités, will enter service on January 2, 2025. The bus schedules will change as of today.
This new system will include school transport and urban transport, now separated, but also on-demand transport (TAD), the big new feature. The project stakeholders are also working on a bicycle offer, which should be available in the longer term. This new network will now have 131 stops, whereas it currently has around 90.
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000There will be fewer stops for urban transport, to allow for more “regulated, direct and fast” journeys, without stops by schools. School stops will remain the same but will no longer be shared with urban transport.
The aim of this new, completely redesigned offer is to adapt to the habits of as many users as possible, to take into account the entire population and all locations, even certain hamlets, to encourage subscriptions and promote ecology.
The fares will also change. For TAD, a one-way ticket will cost €2 and €1 for those over 75 and people with reduced mobility. For other lines, a full-day ticket will cost €1.
The annual school bus subscription will cost €15, as will the annual urban transport subscription for seniors, young people, students and social security beneficiaries. The full-price annual subscription will cost €100.
An on-demand transport service (TAD) will be set up. It will have 71 stops in total, including some in common with the fixed lines. Fifteen strategic and attractive destinations (schools, hospitals, train stations, etc.) will be served.
From December 24, 2024, reservations can be made online or by telephone (04 66 49 03 81), for three weeks before the date of the trip. Reservations can be made up to 2 hours before departure. A dedicated mobile application will be available in March. Users will board new electric minibuses.
People with reduced mobility or the elderly can be dropped off exactly in front of the place they wish to go, in addition to the stops already planned. The TAD will not be available on Saturday afternoons or Sundays. On other days, it will operate until 6 p.m.
Please note that each line color corresponds to a service: Max bus in blue, Max TAD in orange and Max bike in pink. In yellow, the mobility to be developed… An information point should be available in the city center. I subscribe to read more
