After Montpellier and Castelnau, the new Minister of Health, Yannick Neuder, was in Ganges this Friday, January 31, 2025 to inaugurate the MRI at the Saint-Louis clinic.

He was kept as far away as possible from the Minister of Health who was visiting the town this Friday afternoon: the collective for maintaining a maternity hospital in Ganges is nevertheless continuing its fight. The last birth at the Saint-Louis clinic was on December 19, 2022, and the reopening in the future Saint-Louis 2 clinic (or more precisely Saint-Louis Cevennes) is still hoped for.

Yannick Neuder, “fourth Minister of Health in a year” as he himself pointed out, is in favor of it. A doctor himself and a local elected official, the minister pointed out the difficulties in recruiting caregivers. Of those that prevent Cap Santé from reopening the maternity ward as soon as possible, and that also complicate the operation of the brand new MRI. For “this proximity model” praised by Yannick Neuder to be effective, this is indeed the prerequisite.
