Messenger is going to improve video calls: here's what's going to change for you

Messenger, a messaging application developed by Meta, has just announced its latest update ;updated. Aimed at improving calls and messages, here are the newly introduced features.

Messenger is getting a makeover. With its latest update, Meta's application intends to optimize audio and video calls, via five new AI-powered features.

Considered one of the most widely used instant messaging applications in Western countries, Messenger appears to be a considerable weight in Mark Zuckerberg's company. The updates updates are not uncommon on the platform, which is regularly updated with new features.

Improved video and audio calls

No more poor quality video calls on Messenger, thanks to this new update! Meta adds the HD function, which will automatically activate on phones connected to Wi-Fi. For those dipping into their mobile data reserves, the option can be activated in the call settings.

Messenger also introduces a very useful feature: ambient noise suppression. Thanks to Meta AI artificial intelligence, which will identify noises that are harmful to the conversation, the sound clarity of calls will be greatly improved.

In addition to this, artificial intelligence is now able to generate backgrounds during video calls, useful during professional conversations or between friends. A feature fun that is able to adapt simple prompts into unique and original images.

Improved messaging

Messenger also adds a useful feature: that of leaving audio or video voice messages when a person does not answer. This can be activated using the “Record a message” button, found in the interface.

Finally, it is important to mention the prominent role given to Siri, Apple's virtual assistant. Smartphone users the bitten apple will now be able to send a message or make a call on Messenger just by calling Siri with your voice. A way to strengthen the practical side of the application, although this addition is not really revolutionary.

In fact, the additions of this update already existed, for the most part, in applications competing with Messenger. Meta's platform was therefore able to catch up with its opponents, such as Google Meet, Zoom and Facetime, who have been taking advantage of these features for several years already.
