MHB – Toulouse: “It’s very disappointing”, “our fault if we didn’t win”, reactions after Montpellier’s poor result

Montpellier

Erick Mathé, MHB coach: “It's very disappointing. I don't think I'm doing them an injustice by saying that we had the game well in hand, we did what we had to do. We got ourselves into a mess with the number of missed shots. We missed penalties, shots from six meters, counterattacks that went off target. We were very nervous in this area. So yes, it's disappointing.

Given the end of the match, it could have gone either way. Despite the frustration, we managed to save the match and get a match ball, but we didn't convert it. Our regrets are more about our inability to score goals.

It's true, we conceded a lot of goals. Rémi was very good in the first half, and in the second, there were far fewer saves by the goalkeepers. But I think that, despite everything, we still had the balls to be safe. Besides, we're down 4 again in the second half, so I feel like I did what was needed each time in this match. But it is also congratulating Toulouse for not giving up, and for believing in their chances in this game until the end.”

Sebastian Karlsson, MHB right winger:“We have to be precise in the hot moments, at the end. I missed a penalty that I had to take, we had chances from six meters away… It's our fault if we didn't win, but Toulouse did a very good job with their seven-on-six game. We just have to be better when we get to the end of the match.”

Toulouse

Danijel Andjelkovic, Toulouse coach: “When you look at the way the match played out, it started off strong with the 6-1 we conceded right from the start. We were a little worried, we thought we were going to have a bad evening. My players never gave up, they believed in it until the end. We didn't want to let them go. In the last few minutes we opened up a little bit the door and we had to be ready to go back. I am proud of my players and my team. We showed character. The MHB has not lost a point at home this season. In the end, we are very happy and pleased to have this point.”
