Montpellier's second or third line, Yacouba Camara, has extended his contract with Montpellier until 2028.

He was at the end of his contract, but there was no doubt. Yacouba Camara, 30, extended his contract until 2028 with the MHR. The player made it official just before the kick-off of MHR-Ospreys, a match counting for the 2nd day of the Challenge.

Arriving in 2017, the player who has 133 appearances with the Montpellier jersey was one of the priorities of the Hérault staff. “Yacou, I would like him to sign a permanent contract. I would like our team to be represented by a guy like him. He is a great man. He is captain when we are champions. He comes from outside, but today, he is from Montpellier, a bit like Benoît Paillaugue has become. It's good to work with a guy like that”, assured his manager, Joan Caudullo, at the end of November. A wish that was partly granted.

Dad of the locker room

Internally, Camara's weight has continued to grow in recent years. His leadership on the field, his right words before and after matches, his role as big brother to Mohamed Haouas… The Massy native is essential in Montpellier. For at least three more years.
