L’effectif du MHSCis growing visibly. To play Saturday (6 p.m.) in Puy-en-Velay in the 32nd round of the Coupe de France, Jean-Louis Gasset has a range of men and options. He will take advantage of this to refine his choices on the eve of the departure on vacation.

Rested at the start of the week, due to a right ankle injured in Lens on December 8 and still painful, Serbian defender Nikola Maksimovic should be able to take his place in central defense alongside Becir Omeragic.

The other central defender, Modibo Sagnan, will serve a one-match suspension as will right-back Enzo Tchato. Conversely, striker Tanguy Coulibaly, who served a two-match suspension following his exclusion against Lille (2-2), is making his comeback.

A return for Fayad and Issoufou ?

Midfielder Khalil Fayad and striker Yanis Issoufou, who returned to competition last week with the reserve team, are likely to join the Hérault squad. And, defensive midfielder Birama Touré, who arrived in September, has fully recovered from his thigh injury and is available for this last match of 2024.

Only young winger Othmane Maamma, in the rehabilitation phase, defender Christopher Jullien and Malian international Kiki Kouyaté are not operational. After undergoing an arthroscopy on his right knee in early October, the former Metz defender (27 years old), wearing crampons, is stepping up his work with a view to returning to competition.

Still no Kouyaté

Firstly, he should take part in his first team training sessions the day after the trip to Lyon scheduled for 4 January (9pm). Disrupted preparation, nagging pain in his knee until his operation.

Kouyaté has only played two matches since the end of last season. With a starting role in Paris on August 23 and a substitute during the game against Auxerre on September 22.

Given the delay in his athletic work, the solid defender (1.92 m) will have to take all precautions before playing again in Ligue 1 or in the Coupe de France with Montpellier. And be patient.
