Xiaomi didn't just have its new range of smartphones to present. In Berlin, the number 3 in the French market held a conference of all excesses. The opportunity to present, alongside the Xiaomi 14 Series, an entire ecosystem of connected objects.

On the program, home appliances (TV and robot vacuum cleaners), health-oriented products (Smart Band 9 and Watch 2) as well as headphones competing with AirPods 4. Xiaomi clearly shows its desire to compete with Apple and Samsung in all sectors. Still with the same ingredient: very good value for money.

Xiaomi first unveiled the X20 Max, a new robot vacuum cleaner that comes with its own multifunctional charging station. It washes mops at high temperature and dries them quickly. Its suction power reaches 8000 Pa. Standards that are found in the premium segment.

The X20 Pro, meanwhile, is intended to be more practical on a daily basis. Its base automatically empties the dust bin in 13 seconds. With 7000 Pa of suction and intelligent carpet detection, it promises to adapt to all interiors. These two models integrate advanced navigation systems. Another string to Xiaomi's bow.

The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 (available from €39.99) expands its offering with more than 150 modes sportsmen. Its 21-day battery life in typical use remains a strong argument against the competition. Xiaomi has worked on the customization aspect with more than 200 interchangeable dials.

Health and sleep tracking features have been improved. The manufacturer mentions a linear motor for customizable vibrations, a feature whose real usefulness remains to be proven.

The Xiaomi Watch 2 (available from €99.99) benefits from an update software update and a new Titanium colorway. The most notable addition is the “Pet Park” feature, a mini-game that rewards physical activity. The watch can now control the new Xiaomi TVs and offers interactive boxing lessons.

These additions, while nice, seem minor compared to the advanced features offered by Apple or Samsung on their high-end smartwatches. We will not fail to specify all these points in a more complete test.

  • Xiaomi Watch 2 Titanium: available from €169.99

This product offensive demonstrates Xiaomi's desire to no longer focus only on its smartphones but on its entire ecosystem.

As always, Xiaomi is banking on good value for money and high-volume products (like the Smart Band 9). It now remains for the manufacturer to refine the software aspect and the lifespan of its products to gain credibility.

In a mature smartphone market, the quality of the ecosystem will make the difference. Apple understood this a long time ago, Samsung has been following suit in recent years. We will now also have to count on Xiaomi, which, let us remember, has an inexhaustible product catalog in China.

  • Xiaomi is launching 7 new IoT products (vacuum cleaners, TVs, headphones, smart bracelets and watches) to create a complete ecosystem.
  • The announced technical characteristics are impressive, but remain to be confirmed in real conditions.
  • In a mature smartphone market, Xiaomi must, like its competitors, rely on the ecosystem to retain its customers.
