“The players adored him”

Between 1993 and 1998, at the request of Richard Astre who was well aware of his professionalism and know-how, he joined the ASBH. He was a kind of jack-of-all-trades manager, a gem for Richard Astre who coached the team: “He was a very affectionate boy,” the former international scrum-half recounts with great sadness. He was very dear to me. He was open, warm, a bon vivant who had many friends. When I was coaching, we complemented each other. He took care of everything administrative, on the club's stewardship side. The players adored him. He left no one indifferent.”

After leaving the ASBH, it was with the Saint-Thomas golf sports association, of which he was president for years, that Michel Planes was unanimously popular. Professionally, he had worked at the Crédit Lyonnais bank. Michel Planes' funeral will be held on Monday, December 23, at 3 p.m., at the Madeleine church in Béziers.
