More young people are entering the ranking of the 500 fortunes of France

In total, the selection this year includes around twenty young profiles (under 40), at least millionaires (but it's often much more).

Almost all of them are active in a digital-related activity. Like the American-French Evan Spiegel, owner of 12% of the social network Snapchat – in 2nd position in the 2024 ranking, counting only the young people. Let's make it clear right away: he's no longer a heart to take since 2017 and his marriage to Miranda Kerr. Too bad.

The same goes for Pavel Dourov, founder of Telegram, who is well ahead of the ranking with 13.9 billion euros – he is in the 12th place overall in the ranking of the richest entrepreneurs in France. The 3rd place on the podium is occupied by the three founders of Mistral AI: Arthur Mensch, Guillaume Lample and Thimothée Lacroix. Each holding the equivalent of 3 billion euros in 2024.

As an alternative, in fashion, there is for example the French Simon Porte Jacquemus, who has seen his position significantly improve this year – showing in passing the dynamism of the sector. A trend that is incidentally rather generalized in this subsection of the ranking of the largest fortunes in France.

We also note that young people with the greatest financial capacities in the country thanks to their activity in catering or in the hotel industry are also benefiting from a strong dynamism after the major crisis linked to the pandemic which had decimated these sectors.

But that's not all: new young faces are entering the ranking compared to 2023. This is the case, for example, of Charles Kantor, Julien Perolat and Laurent Sifre, our colleagues note. The latter are currently making a fortune in AI – the youngest of them is only 25 years old. Their assets amount to 250 million euros this year – and are probably set to increase significantly given the excitement surrounding these technologies.

The period, as we can see, continues to be full of opportunities for young people tempted by entrepreneurship in France. In a phase where the country's biggest fortunes are experiencing fairly sustained growth. Now it remains to be seen whether one of them is made for you (and single). And if he's on a dating app…
