With League D comprising only 6 teams, only the top two teams have a chance of promotion to the top league, while the two worst fourth-placed teams in League C are doomed to relegation. To add to the stakes, four tickets to the 2026 World Cup play-offs have also been secured reserved for the best teams of this League of Nations, not qualified via the qualifiers.
