Nouvelle phase dans les travaux de réparation du pont de Sylvéréal. Cet ouvrage, situé entre Aigues-Mortes et Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer permet à la RD 58 de franchir le Petit Rhône.

Phase 2 of the work, carried out by departmental councils 13 and 30, began on January 6. It consists of a complete repainting of the structure, to preserve the metal structure and therefore the durability of the structure.

“The presence of lead in the existing paint requires the structure to be completely encapsulated during the work to avoid any release of pollutants”, states the Gard department.

The structure will then be completely stripped and repainted in oxide red.

Disruptions will impact road traffic as follows: traffic will be cut on the structure for 4 nights, from February 3 to 4, from February 4 to 5, from February 5 to 6 and from February 6 to 7. The cut-off will take place from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. every night to allow the scaffolding to be moved.

Night cut-offs

“Apart from night-time traffic cut-offs, 24-hour traffic lights will be set up on the structure until summer 2025. The bridge will be strictly prohibited for heavy goods vehicles weighing more than 12 tonnes for the entire duration of the work. They will have to use the diversion route.”

“Thereafter, several periods including a few nights of traffic cut-offs will take place between now and summer next, to allow the scaffolding to be moved and the painting work to continue. During the nights when traffic is cut off on the structure, a diversion will be put in place.”
