Nîmes Olympique: transfer window, injuries, sleep, the latest news from the Crocos

Spread the love

Marowane Khalid on the way out ? The Crocos' attacking midfielder, seen here in action against Quevilly-Rouen last November, has only made three small appearances in the Championship since the start of the season. Midi Libre – Mikaël Anisset

The Nîmes club, relegated to the National since its 3-2 defeat on Friday in Châteauroux, would like to recruit a striker… who scores.

Free loan of a L1 striker wanted

Tried last week and still present Monday January 27 at La Bastide, the attacking Lucas Marin, 21, under contract until June 30 at Vevey-Sports (3rd Swiss division), will he strengthen the crocodile squad? “He is an interesting player, but more for the future, explained to Midi Libre the sporting director Sébastien Larcier. He does not have the profile that we are primarily looking for today, even if we would not mind putting a little competition.”

A winger, Lucas Marin, on trial for a few days, does not have the profile of the striker sought as a priority during this winter transfer window. Midi Libre – Thierry Albenque

It is a goalscorer that the crocodile club would like to recruit during this winter transfer window. Sébastien Larcier is working to obtain the free loan of a young player playing in a Ligue 1 club, as was the case with Strasbourg's Ali Abdallah, who returned to Alsace in December. Not easy, with elite clubs primarily seeking to free up payroll by parting with their big salaries.

Khalid to Algeria ?

Absent last week, Marowane Khalid was on trial at Paradou Athletic Club, currently 4th in Algerian Division 1. “It went well”, assures the 25-year-old attacking midfielder, back at La Bastide. Enough for the Algiers-based club to sign him ? Khalid signed his first professional contract last summer (1 year) but has only made three appearances this season in the Championship (64 minutes of play) and two in the Coupe de France (84 minutes of play). For the moment, while waiting, Nîmes Olympique would not oppose his departure. If he were to leave, he would be replaced.

Bouaoune sick, Lemaangr injured

Two players have been missing since Monday, January 27: Bouaoune, who is sick, and Lemaangr, who injured his left knee (internal lateral ligament) with the reserves, Saturday on the catastrophic synthetic pitch at La Bastide.

Akkal (left knee) and Picouleau (tendon bursitis), who missed the trip to Châteauroux, have resumed training normally. To avoid friction, the latter nevertheless had to make a small hole in his shoe. Injured in the left hamstring last November, goalkeeper Cozzella is finishing his re-athleticization and will resume group sessions next Monday.

Daoudi's first

Having come on for eight minutes in Châteauroux, his first with the pros, striker Ahmedine Daoudi is the 29th player used in the Championship by Adil Hermach. Midi Libre – Thierry Albenque

If Tom Larcier, who had travelled to Châteauroux, was not finally included on the match sheet, Ahmedine Daoudi, on the other hand, made his first appearance in the group in Berry, in National. The 24-year-old Nîmes reserve striker even came into play eight minutes from the end, replacing Bouaoune. This is the 29th player used in the Championship by Adil Hermach since the start of the season.

Put the Gladiators into hibernation

“Following the events that occurred on Friday evening in Châteauroux, and given the context in which we are operating today, the association is going into hibernation and the group is ceasing its activities.” This is the press release issued on Monday evening, January 27, by the Gladiators. A decision taken over the weekend, following a meeting of the association, a few hours after the attack they were victims of in Châteauroux and the theft of their tarpaulin.

Asked about this suspension, this Tuesday at La Bastide, the crocodile coach Adil Hermach replied: “The most important thing is the health of those who were injured in Châteauroux.” And to predict: “They (the Gladiators) will come back stronger.”
