“To be included in this honor roll of the best hospitals, a complete service must be provided in the medical and surgical disciplines. Specialized establishments such as, for example, cancer treatment centers (CLCC) were therefore excluded. Psychiatry rankings were not taken into account”, the newspaper specifies.

The Franciscaine and the Grand-Sud polyclinic also stand out

The establishment stands out in particular for the “heart failure” poles, where it ranks 23rd out of 652 hospitals having carried out at least twelve hospitalizations for this pathology in 2022; for myocardial infarctions (15th out of 448 hospitals); hip (11th out of 360) and knee (11th out of 343) prostheses; foot surgery (13th out of 336) and carpal tunnel surgery (17th out of 333) or even adult testicular surgery (7th out of 175) and prostate cancer (16th out of 138). These distinctions are welcomed by the CHU on its social networks: “This result, after the High Quality of Care certification in 2023 by the High Authority of Health, confirms the excellence of our health professionals”.

The private hospital Le Franciscaine, although it does not appear in the newspaper's 2024 ranking, nevertheless stands out for artery surgery, ranking 20th out of 237 clinics evaluated. The Grand-Sud polyclinic is ranked 49th out of 393 hospitals and clinics for normal deliveries, and 12th out of 207 clinics for obesity surgery among others.
