In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, a nurse allegedly took advantage of her shifts in Costco pharmacies to enter false information in the Quebec Vaccination Registry, leading to the issuance of illegal vaccine passports.

The 41-year-old nurse worked for the Chaudière-Appalaches Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSS) when she participated in the COVID-19 vaccination effort in pharmacies Costco in Sainte-Foy and Lévis.

The nurse from the CIUSSS de Chaudière-Appalaches allegedly entered the false data while she worked part-time at Costco, as a vaccinator.

Continued of a denunciation to the Permanent Anti-Corruption Unit (UPAC), the police force launched an investigation.

Radio-Canada has obtained the request for a communication order prepared by UPAC in order to have access to data from the Ministry of Health and Social Services.

The court document details how the nurse allegedly went about allowing seven people, including herself, to fraudulently obtain a proof of vaccination.

The allegations contained in this document remain to be proven to the Court. We can read that an auditor noticed anomalies in certain entries in the Register, concerning people who would have been vaccinated at the Center de foire de Québec.

The nurse reportedly indicated that people had been vaccinated at the Fairgrounds Center, even though no appointments had been made there at their name.

The information listed with the defendant's employee code indicates vaccinations carried out by inactive nurses or even themselves. found in other administrative regions, such as Abitibi.

The vaccinated people, most of whom came from the same family, had not made any appointments on the Clic Santé portal. The registrations for their vaccines would have been made in Costco, in November 2021, while Marie-Lyne Alexandre Blais was working there.

The nurse who also practices under the name Marie-Lyne Blais had received two doses which appear to be consistent, indicates the UPAC investigator in the legal document.

For the third dose, however, she would have vaccinated herself, writes Detective Sergeant Pierre Larochelle.

The pharmacist-manager of the Costco pointed out to the police officer that self-vaccination was an uncommon practice.

In his request for an order, the investigator concludes that the nurse used his access to the Information System for the Protection of Infectious Diseases to enter false information which eventually made it possible to create false vaccination evidence.

After appearing alone, Marie-Lyne Alexandre Blais mandated a lawyer to represent her for the rest of the proceedings.

Me Audrey Couture told Radio-Canada that her client did not want to make a statement at the moment. The lawyer has yet to review the evidence and evaluate it, but she has indicated that Ms. Alexandre Blais contests the accusations and wishes to plead not guilty.

The file will be returned to the Court in January.

The name of Marie-Lyne Alexandre Blais still appears on the roll of the Order of Nurses of Quebec. The resident of Saint-Henri, near Lévis, has been registered there since May 2008.

For the moment, she is only doing so. subject to no prosecution before the Disciplinary Council of his profession. The CISSS de Chaudière-Appalaches confirms that the clinical nurse has no longer been employed since last April.
