OpenAI Launches ChatGPT App for Windows: Here's How to Access It

While ChatGPT is already available on all platforms via a web browser, OpenAI launched a native application for macOS a few months ago. And today, it is also making official a ChatGPT application for Windows PCs. This new application is compatible with machines running Windows 10 version 17763.0 or higher. But for the moment, this is still only a test version of the ChatGPT application, which is only available to users of the paid version (ChatGPT Plus, Enterprise, Team or Edu).

If you have a ChatGPT subscription, you can start using this Windows application by downloading it from the OpenAI website. The company specifies, however, that this is still an early version. The full experience will be available before the end of the year, and will be offered to all ChatGPT users.

What are the benefits of the ChatGPT app for Windows ?

Compared to the web version for browsers, the ChatGPT app for Windows will allow you to access the AI ​​faster. Indeed, you will be able to quickly access ChatGPT by using the Alt + Space shortcut. And like the version for macOS, this version for Windows also allows you to use a ChatGPT mini-window that allows you to quickly access the AI. But, as TechCrunch notes, the current version of the ChatGPT app for Windows does not yet offer all the features of the web version.

For example, the advanced voice mode is not available on this app. And some features of the OpenAI GPT store are also missing. But in any case, for those who use ChatGPT for coding, for analyzing data, or for finding inspiration, the Windows application, even if it is an incomplete version, should allow a significant time saving.
