One ​​of three individuals accused of contempt of court corpse in Quebec now faces a charge of first degree murder.

François Bouchard, 31, appeared this morning at the Quebec courthouse for the assassination of Santiago Gaona, whose remains were found on September 17.

According to his Facebook profile, Santiago Gaona is of Colombian origin and was based in the Montreal area.

The macabre discovery took place very close to the limits of Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, in a tree felling and pruning company.

According to the pursuit, the 26-year-old man was allegedly killed in Contrecœur, in Montérégie.

After the discovery of human remains in the Quebec region, the investigation led the police to Bouchard's residence, which was the subject of a search.< /p>

However, the investigation would not have made it possible to determine the exact date of the murder, since the prosecution indicates that the offense took place between September 8 and 16.

The accused, François Bouchard, Cassandra Major and Jean-Philippe Lamontagne.

Cassandra Major, 31, and Jean-Philippe Lamontagne, 44, are charged with accessory after the fact to the murder of Santiago Gaona.

It took several days to confirm the identity of the victim, the state in which his body was found making it difficult to identify.

Me Jean Simon Larouche, from the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions, is the prosecutor who pilots the folder.

According to information from Radio-Canada, the murder is linked to organized crime.

Santiago Gaona's Facebook profile shows that he was a musician. He also shared some pieces on an online listening platform.

The co-accused, all from the Montreal region, remain detained for the moment. They will return to the Court in November for further proceedings.
