Sean John Combs, aka P. Diddy, 55, filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit on January 22, 2025, in the Southern District Court of New York. The suit targets Courtney Burgess, her attorney Ariel Mitchell, and the network NewsNationfor spreading false allegations. Courtney Burgess and Ariel Mitchell allegedly repeated the allegations to multiple media outlets, including NewsNation, which allegedly failed to investigate them before publishing them, the complaint states.

“These intentional lies have poisoned the public's perception,” Diddy's attorney Erica Wolff told People magazine.. The airing of the accusations also allegedly benefited the opposing parties.
