On December 6, the host came out of the woodwork via his social networks to announce that he was suffering from lung cancer. “Friends, I have an important truth to tell you. I have lung cancer, but I will recover from it because it is becoming more and more curable!” he had declared.

Since then, Francis Fontaine's sidekick has visited different sets to talk about his illness. After “Ça commence aujourd”hui” and “Le Mag de la santé”, he agreed to talk about his fight on C8. On Monday, January 6, 2025, Pascal Bataille gave an interview to Jordan de Luxe. In the latter, he returned to the causes of his illness but also to the proposals he refused concerning his treatment.

In his interview, Pascal Bataille also revealed how he learned the sad news of his cancer from his ex-wife. “We all have people around us who have this disease. My ex-wife had breast cancer five years ago, she is in remission but she had a very hard time with it. I sometimes wondered the question of how I would react if I was told that I had serious cancer, I thought I would collapse (…) but not at all.” Pascal Bataille first explained.

As he came out of his scanner, the 62-year-old host immediately picked up his phone to warn Adra, his ex-wife. “She's my best friend, my accomplice. I called her and told her 'it's my turn'. I had been a little bit by her side when she had hers. She said to me 'Wait are you sure ? You did your biopsy ?' I went into fighter mode at without my full consent.” added the father of the family.
