“The operation consists of removing a piece of lung, in this case the right lung, he explained on the show Chez Jordan. The surgeon will see by opening it up exactly, but a priori, they will remove two lobes of my right lung. So I will have a small part of my lung left that will continue to function. It is a major operation, obviously, which is not without its risks, like any operation. And there, even more so when they open your chest. It is not trivial, but I go into it with a lot of confidence, because I know that I am being operated on by extremely competent and gifted people, and that it is an operation that is nevertheless current.”

A long convalescence

Pascal Bataille also knows that a long convalescence awaits him after the operation. “A somewhat difficult month of convalescence” is to be expected, he confided.

“There is a problem with pain management, because it is quite painful. Afterwards, I hope that it will be nothing more than a bad memory and that there will be monitoring to be done, because one of the vices of cancer is to want to come back regularly. But I think that I will be back on my feet at the beginning of February. In any case, that is what I have set as a schedule in mind”, he affirmed.
