An announcement that his fans did not expect… Friday, December 6, 2024, Pascal Bataille revealed terrible news through his Instagram account. “Friends, I have an important truth to tell you. I have lung cancer, but I will recover because it is increasingly curable !”, he had declared.

With optimism, Laurent Fontaine's sidekick had added: “And one day soon, we must be able to say that also for Charcot's disease, so help us fund research. For two or three months, I have been fighting lung cancer. And I am sure that I will win this fight. First, because I am surrounded by wonderful doctors. Then, because I benefit from new treatment protocols that have made considerable, exponential progress in recent years”, before specifying that he had “a thunderous morale”.

Pascal Bataille: “It's a heavy operation”

Monday January 6, 2025, on the set of the show Chez Jordan, on C8, the host of the show Y a que la vérité qui compte had confided that he was going to have an operation soon. “The operation consists of removing a piece of lung, in this case the right lung. The surgeon will see when opening exactly, but a priori, they will remove two lobes of my right lung. I will therefore have a small part of my lung left which will continue to function”, he explained.

In all transparency, Pascal Bataille had added to the host: “It's a major operation, obviously, which is not without its pitfalls, obviously, like any operation. And there, even more so when they open your chest. It's not trivial.

Pascal Bataille: “They saved me one, so that's already very good news”

Monday, February 3, 2025, on the set of Morandini Live, the 65-year-old host assured that he was doing “as well as possible”. I had surgery three weeks ago, after treatment in the fall and until December. I had surgery on my lungs: they removed one lobe, they were supposed to remove two, they saved one, so that's already very good news”, he said before confiding that he was doing rehabilitation to recover his breath and his ability pulmonary.

“But I have to say that, whether it's the immunotherapy or chemotherapy treatment, which I tolerated very well, or the operation that went wonderfully, for the moment, I'm incredibly lucky in my misfortune, in quotation marks, in what's happening to me, in this misadventure”, he added before considering that early screening could enable great progress to be made.
