A 58-year-old man was stabbed in the chest on Sunday, November 10 in Marcq-en-Barœlig;ul, near Lille, in the North. “A passerby was stabbed in a parking lot, for no reason” according to the first elements of the investigation, a police source told AFP, quoted by TF1 info. He died of his injuries.

“It's a terrible tragedy. It's also something incomprehensible given the current state of knowledge of the facts,” he confided. The motive for the attack is not yet known. The attack currently appears to be a random act. A suspect has been arrested and taken into custody. Shortly before the attack, he allegedly stole a knife from a nearby furniture and decoration store. According to the police source, the attacker is believed to be homeless. The suspect has not yet been able to give a viable testimony due to his condition.
