Pélicot affair: the terrible words of the children of the "devil" of Mazan facing their father

The three children of the Pélicot couple spoke this Monday, November 18, before the criminal court of Vaucluse, as part of the trial of the Mazan rapes in which their father appears as the main accused.

David, Florian and Caroline, the three children of the Pélicot couple, spoke at length this afternoon of November 18. If Caroline, who considers herself to be “the great forgotten person of this trial” – only the capture of an image concerning her was retained by the courts – had already had the opportunity to speak at the beginning of the Mazan rape trial, it was the first time that the sons of Gisèle and Dominique Pélicot had given their point of view.

Among their remarks, far from being tender with their father, who is accused of having drugged and orchestrated the rape of their mother by men recruited on the Internet for almost a decade, we will particularly remember those of the youngest of the siblings: Florian. Recalling an evening in Mazan, at his parents' house, where he had seen his mother “hang up” After the aperitif, until being put to bed by her husband, he went back over the story: “The puzzle is coming together […] If I had forgotten one thing that night, what would I have stumbled upon…” He then spoke about his father who called his mother a “saint” : “Yes, she's a saint, she couldn't be in the best place, he's the devil!”, reports BFMTV. And to estimate: “&It's been four years since I lost my father."

"How do we build ourselves up ?"

“We lacked nothing, we received a good education. But when you learn what is happening, this man who is my father, how we build ourselves, how we do, what are the instructions ?” his father Florian Pélicot asked, while he lowered his head. And the couple's third child revealed that this affair “cost him a divorce and a thousand questions”. While photos of his sister were also discovered in his father's belongings, Florian Pélicot ordered Caroline to tell him “the truth”. “Today, we are all in survival mode. She is no longer alive.”

Florian Pélicot did not hesitate to talk about an “identity crisis”, expressing his desire to take a paternity test to find out if Dominique Pélicot was indeed his father, even though his mother had an extramarital affair at the time of his birth. “It would be a relief not to be Dominique Pélicot's son. […] “It was part of my personal reconstruction.” Florian Pélicot also called on his father's co-accused to take “their responsibilities”, before addressing his children, nephews and nieces: “Our children must be proud to bear this name Pélicot. Often, in crime stories, we remember the name of the bad guy, but here, it's Gisèle Pélicot that we remember."

"My whole childhood has disappeared, it has been erased"

Before Florian, the eldest of the Pélicots, David, had spoken. “I lost a man who, like my mother, gave me a good education, values, a backbone,” he explained, not hesitating to mention their complicity or the admiration of some of his friends for his father. “My whole childhood has disappeared, it was like it was erased,” he confided.

The tone rose between the son and the father when David called Dominique Pélicot to tell “the truth” about his sister, who is certain that she was also drugged and raped, but also her own son, whom Dominique Pélicot allegedly asked to “play doctor”. “If you still have a little humanity, you hear, I want you to tell the truth” on the actions you have taken towards my sister, who suffers every day and who will suffer all her life,” he declared, as reported by franceinfo, adding: “I will only go through once [to the bar] and I have no time to waste: on my son, tell us what you have done!” From his box, Dominique Pélicot reacted: “Nothing, I have done nothing to anyone! To none of the children and grandchildren!” Nothing!”

Last to speak, Caroline Darian, the daughter of the Pélicot couple, confided that she “considers herself the great forgotten of this trial”. “I know that I was sedated. This is not a hypothesis, it is a reality. “I know it,” she said, before emphasizing: “The only difference between Gisèle and me is tangible and implacable evidence. My life has been suspended. I am committed to all the victims in France, because the “Gisèle Pelicot” [understand the victims for whom there is evidence, editor's note] “doesn't exist, it's 0.5%.” Caroline Darian created the association #MendorsPas to help victims of chemical submission.
