The main suspect in the Philippine case, Taha O., who is still in in Switzerland where he was arrested, should finally soon be repatriated to mainland France.
Accelerator in sight in the Philippine case. Arrested in Switzerland last September, Taha O., who is accused of the murder of the 19-year-old student found dead on September 21, 2024 in the Bois de Boulogne, not far from Paris Dauphine University where she was studying, has finally backtracked. While the young Moroccan had initially refused his extradition from Switzerland to France, his lawyer revealed this Tuesday, October 29 that he could return to France in the next few days.

The Swiss authorities will organize the transfer of the detainee from Switzerland to France," declared on BFMTV his Swiss lawyer, Florence Yersin, adding that the deadline should be “a few days”. The lawyer also specified that her client had “made this decision after a discussion with [her]”.
Taha O. "knew that he could have appealed for months", thus avoiding having to explain himself to French investigators. However, he decided to “move forward with the French procedure and not delay it”, insisted the lawyer, who specified that the young man “seems to be clear and sure of his reasoning”. What about his defense ? Does he want to confess ? Or does he have any alibi that could exonerate him ? Ms. Florence Yersin did not wish to reveal the defense that her client intends to adopt in the face of French justice.
