In the program C L'hebdo on France 5 on Saturday, January 18, Wilfried Fonck, one of the prison employees, spoke about the incidentwhich took place. This Monday, January 13, 2024, in the prison of Bordeaux-Gradignan, an internal administrative investigation was opened.

This took place in theisolation unit where Pierre Palmade is incarcerated. “We actually had the entry of a member of the staff in civilian clothes at the level of the isolation ward where Pierre Palmade is located. We do not yet have know the motives. All we can say is that it would be a representative of the staff who could be there.” explains Wilfried Fonck.

A suspicious arrival

Which raises problem is that he “would have gone especially to Pierre Palmade's cell and the question arises as to the why and how. There is an administrative investigation that has just been opened.” affirms Wilfried Fonck. “I think that it was not done to expose him to others. But all the rules of isolation were not respected, çit raises questions.”

Indeed, Pierre Palmade's cell, as well as at least one other, and the grid that separates isolation from the rest of the detention were opened. The administration is going to view the video surveillance tapes. “There is something that didn't workand we will try to understand why.”

Pierre Palmade was surprised by the visit of a “staff representative” thathe did not know in his cell. This made him very afraid for his safety in prison. Laurent Valdigié, journalist for Marianne, émentions a hypothesis of the investigation. “We can say that he wanted to see Pierre Palmade and enter the cell. He would have liked to tell him to stop making a mess. Pierre Palmade was worried about this coming that evening. He mentioned a guard he doesn't know and the gate is a little open.”

According to the journalist, “everything will be back to normal. The comedian has his habits with the guards. He is just annoyed of their constant coming even at night. This wakes him up, but it is to check that he is not trying to commit suicide.” This surveillance is indeed different for Pierre Palmade. “We monitor him in a specific way for the fact that it is a person in the media, a mediatized fact and that he is someone relatively sensitive.”
