Several PlayStation Network services went down overnight, preventing PS4 and PS5 players from to play online. The servers seem to be coming back online little by little.
A massive outage of the PlayStation Network servers occurred during the night of Monday, September 30 to Tuesday, October 1. This outage simply prevented players from accessing Sony's online games and services, but the servers now seem to be back online in several countries including France.
The PSN outage was not only in Europe since all countries where the service is available seemed to be impacted. Players could still enjoy their games offline, especially for the few titles that can be played solo and without a connection required. However, games that require a constant connection to run could not be launched. This could include competitive games like Valorant or Call of Duty Warzone if you want to compete against other players online.
The PlayStation Network was down for several hours. The servers have been down since around 2-3am on Tuesday, October 1st. Services appear to be coming back online in some countries, but as of now, neither PlayStation nor Sony have made any specific announcements regarding the PSN outage. The network's official website, however, allows you to check which services are down and which are still available.

Only Playstation Direct, which allows you to buy games and consoles online, seems to be spared. Let's hope that the other services will now be restored during the day, and we will keep you informed.
With no announcement made on the subject from Sony, it is still difficult to understand where comes the breakdown of the Playstation Network.
In the United States, however, players seem to be affected by another major outage that is causing problems with the outage of the internet service provider Verizon. This therefore prevents multiple American players from connecting, not only to the Playstation Network, but also to the internet in general.
In France, our internet operator services seem to be working well. The outage must therefore be on the Playstation servers.
Latest updates
Several countries seem to be recovering from the Playstation Network outage. In France, most services still seem to have some difficulties and you will probably have to wait a few more hours before being able to play online.
The majority games that require an online connection are now impossible to launch unless they offer a single-player, no-login experience. Purely single-player titles like “Astro Bot” or “God of War” can therefore be launched, but don't count on playing competitive games like “Valorant” as long as the PSN outage is not resolved.
A bad surprise for those who wanted to take advantage of the day to play online on their PS4 or PS5! The Playstation Network servers are currently offline. This simply prevents you from doing updates, consulting the PS Store or simply playing online!
