The official opposition is calling for an investigation by the Auditor General into the allocation of energy blocks to businesses by the CAQ government.

A letter was sent to Auditor General Guylaine Leclerc to this effect on Wednesday.

The Quebec Liberal Party (PLQ) fears arbitrariness in the allocation of supply blocks, in a current context of electricity shortage for industries that want to increase their activities or decarbonize their processes.

The Liberal opposition accuses the Ministry of Energy of being silent on the point system that allows a request to be refused or accepted.

The PLQ fears that the government will accept or refuse supply requests at its discretion.
