The Minister of Health visits Hérault

#MONTPELLIER/GANGES – Yannick Neuder, the Minister of Health and Access to Healthcare, is visiting Hérault this Friday for four sessions devoted to public and private healthcare provision. In Montpellier, in the morning, he will go to the University Hospital to visit the post-delivery department and discuss artificial intelligence. At the Parc clinic, he will talk more specifically about long Covid, before going to Ganges for the inauguration of the new magnetic resonance imaging equipment. The day will end in Saint-Clément-de-Rivière with a visit to the Aurores health cooperation group.

Car chase on the A709: a police officer indicted

#SAINT-JEAN-DE-VÉDAS – The driver of the gendarmerie's rapid intervention car was charged with involuntary manslaughter as part of the investigation conducted after the death of a motorcyclist and his passenger on 21 December on the A709. The soldier was taken into custody the day after the tragedy. A chase began after the Saint-Jean-de-Védas toll between the gendarmerie's Alpine and a motorbike, clocked at 139 km/h on a road limited to 90 km/h. Investigations are continuing to shed light on the exact circumstances of the accident that took the lives of a 30-year-old man from Castres, who did not have a license, and his 17-year-old passenger from Saint-Just.

Heavy rain and hail hit Gard and Hérault

#WEATHER – The heavy rains that fell on Thursday in Gard and Hérault led the authorities to intervene. In Gard, the departmental council services closed nine submersible bridges during the afternoon. Two roads were also closed due to the risk of flooding. In the Cévennes, three passes were placed under surveillance.
