Sauramps announces in its window its upcoming arrival next to Darty. Except that… Midi Libre – JEAN-MICHEL MART
For Primark, everything is going well. With the opening of the store in Tours, the Irish ready-to-wear giant now has 28 stores in France. And announces four additional openings for 2025, including Montpellier, “in the second half of the year”, confides Christel Garcia.
For Primark and its access bridge from the upper floor, the construction site is progressing well, without delay. Midi Libre – JEAN-MICHEL MART
No worries then, the construction site is progressing well and on time. Whether it is the shop, or the access bridge. This will house two commercial premises upstairs as well as four on the ground floor intended for catering. The contracts are in the process of being finalized, the announcement of the future brands will be communicated in January according to the director of the shopping center. Finally, if a huge part of the old bowling-karting will be taken over by Primark, 2,000 m2 will be dedicated to a new leisure area, in the vein of “the escape game, Fort-Boyard, the trampoline…”

What about the old Géant Casino next ? The hypermarket closed its doors on September 30th. And no white smoke has yet come out of it. However, a project was recently presented to the Odysseum traders, visuals to support it. With not just one commercial space, nor two or three but “an indoor shopping arcade, with a whole route serving several shops, some of which were announced in Ode à la mer, according to an indiscretion. But since the project has been stopped… The investor is American.”
However, this retailer has not felt any loss of turnover since the Casino closed. “It was perhaps not specifically a clientele that we then found in the shops in the shopping center“, he believes.
“There is no loss of attraction on the destination“, underlines the director of Odysseum, owned by Klépierre while the hypermarket is owned by real estate investment funds. “There is indeed a project in progress. Potentially, everything is possible”, confirms Christel Garcia without getting involved in any other measure.
And Sauramps ?
As we know, times are tough for Sauramps. The bookstore, once one of Odysseum's driving forces, has left its premium location to Zara and part of it is now located in a pop-up on the ground floor. Upstairs, next to Darty, Sauramps announces its imminent and permanent arrival. Except that it's lasting, lasting.
According to the owner, François Fontès, these are construction difficulties that are not the bookstore's fault, but nothing that calls the project into question. According to Odysseum and Christel Garcia, Sauramps has “announced its arrival. We will be delighted when they move in.” For the time being, the commercial unit has been delivered but there is no date on the horizon.
