Samuel Marques was accused of spitting on a hostess during the Nuit du rugby, where he was voted best player in Pro D2. Meeting on Wednesday, January 15, the disciplinary committee of the National Rugby League ultimately did not impose any match suspension on the player. He was, however, fined €3,000.

During the Nuit du rugby in September 2024, where he was voted best player in Pro D2, Samuel Marques was accused of spitting on a hostess who, however, did not file a complaint against him. Pinned by the National Rugby League, the scrum-half faced a penalty of up to ten matches of suspension.

A lesser evil

He was questioned this Wednesday, January 15 by the disciplinary committee. The verdict was given a few hours later: Samuel Marques will not be suspended, but he will have to pay a fine of €3,000. A lesser evil for the player and his group, the Portuguese international being one of the team's key players. He will therefore be on the match sheet for the match this Friday, January 17, at Soyaux Angoulême.

Nkinsi is still waiting to find out if he will be able to play again

For his part, second row Hans Nkinsi still does not know whether or not he will be able to play again. On December 16, he was sentenced by the Béziers court to one year in prison for domestic violence, the player appealed this decision. This appeal being suspensive, he is entitled to play again. The club's leaders have still not ruled on his fate.
