&At 80, Jean-Pierre Castaldi seems to feel good about himself. For many years, however, he has lost and gained weight. Thursday, January 9, 2025, on the set of the show Chez Jordan, on C8, his son, Giovanni, declared at first: “He's 80, but in his head, I don't even know if he's 30”, before slipping: “Honestly, when I see my father at 80, he's in Olympic shape! He's lost a lot of weight, well he's been yo-yoing a lot…”.

A bit curious, Jordan de Luxe asked him if his father had suffered from having a few extra pounds. “No! He doesn't give a damn, Dad!“, he exclaimed before specifying that if his father had gone on a diet, it was mainly for his health. “&At some point, you have to watch him a little more. And then Dad, he sometimes drank a little alcohol&hellip So, I think that he supports a little less and inevitably, when we consume a little less alcohol, we lose weight”, he analyzed.

Jean-Pierre Castaldi weighed up to 135 kilos

Monday, December 9, 2024, on the set of the show Chez Jordan, on C8, Jean-Pierre Castaldi himself had mentioned his alcohol consumption. “A bottle of whisky is an entrée ! &At one time, it was two a night, sometimes three. I was on alcohol, the others were on harder. And they are no longer here”, he assured. According to Giovanni Castaldi, his father only had “social alcohol”.

&At one point, it was mainly due to alcohol that the former host gained a lot of weight and weighed up to 135 kilos. If he lost 29 kilos, he explained : “Everything was complicated because I didn't realize that I had gained weight to make this film, that I had passed sixty and that losing weight at that time is complicated. And especially that after that, I didn't shoot any more. So there was the stress of not shooting any more, the questions, the reassessments, everything was at play”.

Monday June 6, 2022, already facing Jordan de Luxe, the former television star had explained having gained weight for a Claude Berry film. “It was the Bérurier, because Gérard Depardieu had had an operation (on his heart, editor's note), he had lost a lot of weight so he couldn't play Bérurier anymore. So he hired me to play him, asking me to get bigger, because I wasn't big enough. And it's since then that I've been carrying around weight problems. Because I gained almost 29 kilos to play the role”, he had regretted.

In all transparency, Jean-Pierre Castaldi had explained: “I lost 20 again, but it's since then that I've been walking around with 10 or 15 kilos too much. There, it's a little bit better, but it depends on the periods”.
