PS5 Pro physical drive out of stock: where to find it at the best price

Spread the love

Released this Thursday, November 7, 2024, the PS5 Pro has caused many problems ;ccedil;us. The reason: a disc drive not integrated into the console, which is also impossible to find on the Internet.

Better performance, optimized graphics… the PS5 Pro had everything to please, but one major flaw surprised its biggest fans: the absence of a disc drive. With its latest console packed with new technologies, Sony has bet on a model that is only capable of playing dematerialized games.

The only way to run your physical titles is to purchase an optical drive in addition to the console at €799.99. 119.99€, but this one has been out of stock for several weeks already. So how to get this gadget as rare as it is indispensable ?

A lack of reaction from Sony

Faced with the lack of a disc player, the community immediately turned to purchasing this gadget on online platforms. But, with demand far exceeding supply, Sony quickly found itself out of stock, plunging gamers into the greatest disarray.

Having failed to react quickly enough, the Korean company has not restarted its production and the shortage seems to have no end in sight yet. The few individuals wishing to get rid of the much sought-after reader are offering exorbitant prices, doubling or even tripling the usual price. Supermarkets, such as Carrefour, are surprisingly following the same trend and inflating prices to 219.99 euros. (instead of 119.99 euros).

Solution 1: put the price on the big platforms

For players in a hurry, nothing prevents you from going to the big online platforms like FNAC, Rakuten or Amazon. The prices, although inflated, allow you to directly access the products you want to buy.

Solution 2: Go to Microsoft for a more reasonable price

Faced with this difficult situation, there is only one solution brand truly from the others. It consists of turning to Micromania, which is the only company to keep a cool head and offer the PS5 Pro optical drive at its official price. The brand advises its customers to "order it in store", in the hope of receiving it &quot ;early December”. Only condition: be a “Premium and/or Ultimate& quot;

Be careful not to waste too much time. Micromania only keeps ;limited stock readers (around 3,000 copies) for its approximately 420 stores in France.

For now, there is no indication whether this p& eacute;nurie is about to conclude. Sony has still not given no news on the relaunch of its production, and doubts persist concerning the future of its optical readers.
