Given the extent of the delays in surgeries, the Quebec government announced Wednesday morning that it was expanding the range of services that can be performed in private clinics, at no cost to Quebecers.
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000Health Minister Christian Dubé announced in a press release that Quebecers will now be able to go to specialized medical centres to obtain a wider variety of surgeries, including orthopedics, ear, nose and throat, gynecology and urology.
In total, some twenty services have been added to the list of the Regulation respecting specialized medical treatments provided in a specialized medical centre.
Previously, this was limited to cataracts, knees and hips. According to the government, more than 260,000 Quebecers have been able to obtain surgeries with the help of these clinics.
The new regulation will come into force on December 19.
The government maintains that this complementarity between the private and public sectors will allow it to reduce waiting lists for surgeries.
“As part of the Health Plan, our objective is very clear: to improve access for Quebecers. This is why we are working to allow patients who have been waiting for several months to access surgery more quickly, and at no cost,” said Minister Dubé in a press release.
“We must continue to prioritize patients by relying on the complementarity of the public and private networks. »
