Rare childhood cardiopulmonary diseases: Astrid’s solidarity lottery breaks records

La salle Brassens a attiré beaucoup de monde ce dimanche 26 janvier après-midi pour le loto annuel de l'association sétoise Astrid.

“For me it's exceptional,” confides Xavier Giner, president of the Astrid-MRCPI Association (Rare Cardiopulmonary Diseases in Children), as the Brassens hall gradually fills up with hundreds of participants in the organization's annual charity lottery. Tables and chairs have to be quickly added for latecomers. In total, around 600 people made the trip this Sunday afternoon, January 26. Some were even surprised to discover 15 free boxes under their chairs.

and parents

For the twelfth consecutive year, the charity event is full for a good cause. Improving the daily lives of caregivers and parents in the pediatric cardiology department of Arnaud-de-Villeneuve hospital. At the opening of the lottery and in the presence of loyal sponsors, Xavier Giner's team recalled the actions funded in 2024, such as decorating the hospital corridors or holiday meals for the end of the year.

A major project in the pipeline for 2025 is the complete renovation of the family kitchen at the Montpellier healthcare facility. Another highlight of 2025 is the concert at the Théâtre de la Mer, which will return on July 10. The artist has not yet been chosen.
