Ray-Ban Meta: these connected glasses are a huge hit in Europe

Spread the love

After a first version with very mixed success, the new generation of Ray-Ban smart glasses seems to be selling well in Europe.

While Meta is still working on integrating new features into its latest connected glasses, the company announces that this second generation of Ray-Ban Meta is a real success. The latter represent nearly 60% of Ray-Ban brand glasses sold in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. A surprising success given that the first model launched in 2023 did not seem to be a great success and that these connected glasses are sold for almost twice as much as classic Ray-Ban glasses.

How to explain such success for Ray-Ban Meta ?

In 2023, Meta surprised many people by unveiling an exclusive partnership with eyewear manufacturer Ray-Ban. This union allowed the company to launch its first connected glasses for the general public in 2023: the Ray-Ban Meta. However, the first version did not meet with the expected success. since it suffered from several major problems such as autonomy, lack of respect for privacy or even the fact of only being able to record one minute of video.

Meta seems to have reworked its copy. The second generation Ray-Ban Meta benefit from better performance, particularly in terms of video recording which now allows you to capture up to three minutes of content. An ideal tool for creators and videographers who can now produce longer videos for their audience without having to use a camera or smartphone. Meta has also added several functions such as automatic reminders, QR code scanning and voice messages for WhatsApp.

Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses obviously don't intend to stop there. The company responsible for Facebook and Instagram has already announced that several new features based on artificial intelligence as well as an integration of Spotify within the connected glasses should arrive soon. Until then, Meta can now breathe a little.
