The Crown corporation Ontario Power Generation (OPG) claims that one of its former employees is the person who was arrested by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) under a national security law.

The RCMP announced last week that it had arrested an individual who allegedly communicated protected information to a foreign entity or terrorist group with the intent to endanger critical infrastructure .

The Public Prosecution Service of Canada says the person is charged with contravening the Act on the protection of information.

OPG, which operates two nuclear power plants, says in a written statement that the person is a former employee.
