IN BRIEF

  • On December 22, Renaud responded to Jean-Claude Camus in Le Parisien, stating that he does not intend to end his career despite the criticism.

  • Despite concerns about his health, Renaud remains determined to continue his musical career and satisfy his audience.

“Still alive, still standing” are the lyrics of a song by Renaud and he intends to prove it. While some think that he should end his career and rest, this is not the case for the main person concerned. In the columns of Parisien this Sunday, December 22, he openly responded to his detractors, including one in particular. Jean-Claude Camus, former producer of Johnny Hallyday, recently said that he “would do better to stop”. An opinion that made Renaud react and it was without mincing words that the latter responded to him. “I didn't hear it, but çit annoys me”, he said.

Renaud was very upset.   “He wasn't born the moron who wants to bury me,” he said, quoting the lyrics of his song Toujours debout. A simple sentence that says a lot about his way of thinking. As long as his voice and his body follow, Renaud intends to take advantage of his audience, despite his detractors. He also mentioned his desire to release a new song. I'm going to make my next album with violins, piano and accordion. I'm working on it, but I'm having a bit of trouble, it's difficult to release. Lack of inspiration,” he declared, adding later that he hoped to be able to unveil it in early 2026.

Renaud: an immense career… but detractors

At 72, Renaud intends to continue his career and to take full advantage of his audience. After a difficult period, marked by a fight against alcoholism, the singer decided to return to the stage. Since then, he has given a series of concerts but appeared weakened during his last performances. Enough to make Jean-Claude Camus react, who, on December 5, made some very remarkable remarks. Facing Jordan de Luxe, he notably stated: “&Agrave at one point, I find it pathetic”. For him, Renaud should simply stop.

The producer did not hesitate to give a very blunt opinion. “I find that artists who have had such magnitude, such renown with the public, who perform while no longer being what they really were, I think it's better to stop”, he declared before stating: “I, personally, would have stopped”. Jean-Claude Camus says it loud and clear: Renaud doesn't need money so he can stop his career without any problem. Enough to make the main person concerned react who is not at all of the same opinion.

Renaud: videos that worried his fans

On November 16, Renaud's state of health worried his fans. In a video filmed during his concert at LI&eacutevin, the latter appeared very weakened. In the images, we can see him staring into space and, while he tries to perform Mistral Gagnant , he has trouble articulating and the words are difficult to grasp. In the comments, Internet users immediately expressed their concern for the singer. “It's a torture for him and for everyone I think”, “What bothers me the most is the idea of exploiting him again and again”, we could read. But Renaud, himself, has no intention of stopping.
