Review of the Eureka J15 Pro Ultra, one of the best robot vacuum cleaners under 900 euros

The high-end robot vacuum cleaner market is seeing a serious competitor. Eureka is launching its J15 Pro Ultra at 899 euros, much cheaper than the competition's high-end models. An aggressive positioning that is accompanied by impressive technical characteristics: a suction power of 16,200 Pa, an advanced washing system and a compact multifunction base.

The Eureka robot vacuum cleaner is currently available at the price of 899 euros on Amazon. A nice surprise compared to its recommended retail price which is usually 1099 euros.

The J15 Pro Ultra sports a square design with rounded corners that allows it to reach corners more easily, without necessarily needing a retractable side brush. The robot measures 35.4 x 35.5 cm for a height of 11.7 cm, dimensions in the upper average of the market. You will therefore have to be careful not to have furniture that is too low or the J15 will not be able to squeeze into it.

The manufacturing quality is there with premium materials and neat finishes. The matte black coating is rather aesthetic. At the back, there is a rotating mop that can deploy to better clean the edges, similar to what Roborock and Dreame also do.

The major innovation is hidden in the main brush: The FlexiRazor system incorporates blades that automatically cut hair and bristles when returning to the base. An effective solution to prevent them from getting tangled in the central rotating brush.

With its 39.5 x 45.8 x 46.8 cm, the charging station remains relatively compact despite its many features. It integrates two 4L water tanks and 3.4L as well as a 3L dust bag. The automatic mop cleaning system uses hot water up to 75°C before drying with hot air at 55°C. However, we will regret the Eureka J15 Ultra Pro's tendency to require emptying and refilling water far too often. In our case with a 100 m2 house, it was necessary to change the water after only 3 cycles, even though using a low water level.

The innovation is also found in the base's washing system. A three-arm rotating mechanism effectively cleans the mops. The only thing missing is the automatic detergent dispenser, which must be mixed directly in the clean water tank.

With its 16,200 Pa, the J15 Pro Ultra breaks suction power records . In practice, this brute force translates into particularly effective cleaning on all types of floors. The carpets are well dusted thanks to the automatic detection which increases the power and raises the mops.

The washing is not left out thanks to the two rotating mops which exert a good constant pressure. The ScrubExtend system allows to reach difficult areas while protecting the mechanism from shocks. The results are excellent even on dried stains.

The navigation is based on a precise LiDAR coupled with an RGB camera. The obstacle detection works rather well and the mapping is faithful to reality. The autonomy is rather good with a 5200 mAh battery allowing to cover 130 m² on a single charge.

The Eureka application offers a modern and intuitive interface. Personalization is advanced with three memorized maps, definition of floor types, virtual placement of furniture and numerous cleaning parameters.

IntelliView artificial intelligence adapts the cleaning strategy according to the type of dirt detected. The robot even identifies wet marks to avoid spreading them. Obstacle recognition extends to more than 150 different objects.

Some features still have room for improvement, such as the average quality of video surveillance or some slowdowns in the interface. But regular updates and listening to user feedback suggest improvements, with the French translation having already made a big leap forward.

By proposing performance at the level of the best at less than 900 euros, the J15 Pro Ultra becomes an excellent proposition on the market. Some compromises like the absence of automatic detergent distribution or slightly small tanks do not detract so much from the fact that it is very difficult to find such a good model at this price.

The manufacturing quality, cleaning efficiency and intelligent innovations make it a reference for those looking for a high-end robot vacuum cleaner without breaking the bank.
