“The Rings of Power: a season 3& nbsp; Will it see the light of day on Prime Video ?”
Season 2 of the spin-off series The Lord of the Rings series ended on October 3, 2024. But is a sequel already in the works? under construction ?
The Rings of Power finished airing its second season on October 3, 2024. This finale left Sauron in a strong position against the other races, the Elves having been defeated by the Orcs, but saved by the Dwarves at the end of the Battle of Eregion. Many questions were raised, which fans can hope will be resolved in a season 3. But will it ever see the light of day? ?
For the moment, Amazon has not yet confirmed the release of a season 3 of Rings of Power . However, the showrunners had announced that they intended to make a series in five seasons, so a sequel is quite likely from a script point of view. In anticipation of a potential renewal, pre-production began in February according to information from the Hollywood Reporter. But nothing has been finalized yet. by Prime Video, which was waiting to know the reception and the audiences to decide the fate of the series.
And if that's the case, fans will have to be patient: it took two years of production between the first two seasons, with the first coming out in September 2022 and the second in September 2024. We can therefore expect Season 3 not to be released before September 2026, if it is confirmed. In the meantime, the entirety of of both seasons of the Lord of the Rings spin-off series are available to watch on Prime Video.

Warning, spoilers on the series. Since the beginning of the broadcast of the series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, theories from television viewers have been rife about the identity of “The Stranger” played by Daniel Weyman. Episode 8 of the first season confirms that the character is none other than an Istar, a magician, which could potentially make him the interpreter of Gandalf millennia before The Lord of the Rings trilogy. In the season 2 finale, it is now confirmed: the Stranger is indeed Gandalf, since he was named thus ("Great Elf" become "Gandalf") by Nori and his friends.

&Thanks to a video published on social networks, Amazon Prime Video has lifted the veil on the creative team working on the series adapting the universe of the Lord of the Rings. Director Juan Antonio Bayona (Jurassic World 2) has shot the first two episodes. He has also chosen to work with the same executive producer as for his previous films, Belén Atienza. Bruce Richmond, producer of Game of Thrones, Westworld and The Leftovers will also be executive producer of the series, as will Gene Kelly, (Boardwalk Empire, Westworld ) as Lyndsey Weber (Star Trek Without Limits, 10 Cloverfield Lane ).
Responsible for adapting the original signed material J.R.R. Tolkien : J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay will be surrounded by a team of experienced screenwriters. Among them, we find authors who have worked on on Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, 13 Reasons Why, Game of Thrones, The Sopranos or Stranger Things . The creative teams tasked with creating the Lord of the Rings universe include costume designer Kate Hawley (Suicide Squad, Crimson Peak ), Oscar-winning production designer Rick Heinrichs (Sleepy Hollow, Star Wars 8 ), and Oscar-winning special effects supervisor Jason Smith (Avengers 1, Super 8, The Revenant ). Finally, let us note the presence in the credits of John Howe, who notably illustrated numerous editions of the Lord of the Rings books and worked as a concept artist on Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy.
