Sandrine Aubert, responsable de Roseau Log, à Clermont. JM – JM
New company based in Salamane, Clermont, Roseau Log is launching into wine storage and distribution with a capacity of 2 million bottles.
Its name suggests a certain flexibility in wine storage and logistics. Recently appearing on the landscape of the ZAC de la Salamane, in Clermont, the company “Roseau Log”* is setting up in a promising geographical area, between Montpellier and Béziers, at the crossroads of the motorways. “This name is a combination of the names of the two financial partners and myself. We found that “Roseau” was indeed well adapted because flexibility is an integral part of logistics”, confirms Sandrine Aubert, head of the company. A stone's throw from a logistics giant, U Log, Roseau Log will therefore focus its activity on the wine sector in a 2,000 m2, 12-metre-high air-conditioned building with positive energy. “We store bottled wine, not bulk. The idea is really to support winegrowers to help them with storage when they are short of space, but also to help them with distribution.” Downstream, the second activity therefore consists of order preparation: “wine growers, estates, cellars, and even, sometimes, individuals, will entrust us with a little of each reference or, possibly, their entire stock. We will collect, prepare the orders and then ship them to their customers throughout France, or even abroad”.

With a storage capacity of 3,500 pallets, or 2 million bottles, Roseau Log is quite simply like “a giant wine cellar” which required an investment of just over €2 million*.” Several of our customers are estates Terrasses du Larzac but it is also open to Pic-Saint-Loup… And it is expanding. We can also store wines from Bordeaux or Burgundy. We also work with salespeople who want to concentrate stocks here in order to be able to share wines on pallets. We also offer this type of platform for grouping”, explains Sandrine Aubert.

Promoting partnerships between estates
“Some of our customers, particularly high-end estates, have a very good export sales force, very good contacts but do not have enough wine to sell", Sandrine's analysis Aubert. A paradox that Roseau Log could help resolve. “We will try to connect these areas to pool resources, form associations between winegrowers…" Networking, promoting networking, exchanging on all subjects related to the wine world, that's “a bit like the idea of Café Log". A meeting that Roseau Log sets up every last Friday of each month, starting this January 31, at 8:30 a.m.
