While Apple's Vision Pro headset is already on the market, Samsung's mixed reality product is long awaited. As a reminder, in early 2023, the Korean giant formalized its collaboration with Google and Qualcomm to develop its mixed reality product. And it was thought that this product would be available in 2024. But as we approach the end of the year, it is becoming increasingly clear that Samsung's AR/VR headset or glasses will not arrive until the year next, soonest.
But the good news is that a document published by Samsung has just confirmed the arrival of its mixed reality product in 2025. As you may already know, the company has just presented its financial results for the third quarter. And these results are summarized in a PDF document published by Samsung, which also includes its outlook for next year. The manufacturer indicates that next year, it plans to “Improve connectivity between products, including upcoming XR (mixed reality) devices, to further improve the user experience in the Galaxy ecosystem.”
As it already does with smartphones, Samsung is expected to rely on a software platform provided by Google, while the chips will be offered by Qualcomm.
In addition to discussing future mixed reality products, the document also presents Samsung's smartphone strategy for next year. For example, we learn from this document that for the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung will continue to focus on artificial intelligence to boost sales. Samsung also indicates that it also plans to improve the profitability of its smartphone division by improving AI and developing sales focused on flagship products.
Otherwise, Samsung predicts a slight growth in the smartphone market in 2025, while tablets, laptops and smartwatches are expected to grow.
