Enrobé, nouveau traçage au sol… les entreprises de la zone ont pu réinvestir les lieux en ce début d’année. MIDI LIBRE – OLIVIER RAYNAUD

Networks, drainage, asphalt… a large part of the technical area was the subject of work at the end of the year. Companies were able to occupy the spaces again at the beginning of January.

The inconvenience was short-lived. As it had promised, the Colas company delivered the renovation work on a large part of the technical area of Cap d'Agde on time, which is rare enough to be highlighted.

A 2nd phase of work in 2025

In total, an area of 15,000 m² has been restored for the benefit of the nautical companies occupying this space, from the networks to the sludge traps and decanters, without forgetting of course the entire coating, in order to smooth out the roughness – not to mention the holes in certain places – which made the crane maneuvers tricky. “We had a meeting with professionals from the technical area at the beginning of the week, they are satisfied”, notes Sodéal director David Masella. The company managing (for a few more months, before the remunicipalisation of the whole) the ports of the station, which has invested €619,000 excluding tax in this operation, which will include a second phase during the year 2025. With here again the resurfacing of the asphalt on the bottom part of the zone, but above all the creation of a 300 m² boat dismantling area, which will allow the port of Cap d'Agde to be at the forefront on the subject in the Occitanie region and beyond.

Objective Clean Ports certification

Investments which follow the resurfacing of the Trirème and Beaupré quays last winter and which are part of a more global desire: that of obtaining in the most soon the Clean Ports label, like Sète or Port-Leucate. “Without this work, we could not claim it”, recalls David Masella.

At the same time, the port of Cap d'Agde has also just set up selective sorting and installed around forty ashtrays on the quays, around the toilets, which will not only prevent cigarette butts from being thrown anywhere, especially in the water, but also allow them to be recycled. Initiatives which, put together, should also contribute to a better perception of the port of Cap d'Agde by its users and the people who work there on a daily basis.
