A collision involving a school bus occurred Monday north of Calgary, Alberta, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said.
Alberta Health Services said six people, including five children, were sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No deaths were reported in the crash.
Police said in a statement that a Didsbury police officer had encountered an overturned school bus on Highway 2A, near Township Road 320.
Highway 2A, which located north of Calgary, has been closed and no traffic can pass through the area.
Police responded Monday following multiple collisions in the area, particularly on Highway 2, due to poor road conditions.
Albertans woke up to freezing rain and Snowfall is expected later. According to Environment Canada, we could see accumulations of 10 to 15 cm by Tuesday.
