The Win association is organizing a New Year's cocktail at the Atelier du bistrot in Pont-Saint-Esprit on Thursday, January 23. Professionals will be present to discuss scientific careers with high school students.

It’s an evening to learn more about scientific careers. The association Woman in nuclear (Win) of Languedoc-Roussillon Rhône Valley is organizing an evening of exchange on Thursday, January 23, at the Atelier du bistrot in Pont-Saint-Esprit. The event is aimed at high school students who are undecided and curious about their studies, as well as people in professional retraining. The association works on four axes: the promotion of scientific careers by facilitating access to the first job, the sharing of experiences between professionals and interested parties, communication on nuclear energy and diversity in these professions.

We want to promote scientific careers to young people, explains Christelle Marie, president of the Rhone branch of Win. We realize that very few people really know about these professions and we are here to guide them. It will also be an opportunity for professionals to share their experiences in a friendly moment.

A major center of attraction

For several years, the association has also been targeting men, particularly high school students. “The world of industry needs resources and qualified labor, reminds Christelle Marie. Within the next ten years we will have to maintain our nuclear fleet and build new spaces. And for that, we need welders, engineers… Scientific professions are the future and there will be work for qualified people.

And the energy sector of Gard Rhodanien is not left behind. “Between Marcoule and Tricastin, we have a large pole of attraction so we just have to manage to steer young people towards the right professions”, adds the president.

The event on January 23 begins at 5:30 p.m. and is open to all. Free and by registration via the association's website.
