The former model, now aged 65, also returns to motherhood and the arrival of her son, Lulu, in 1986. A birth that would put an end to years of opium and heroin use.

In a relationship with Serge Gainsbourg from 1980 to 1991, Bambou n’ has never lived with the interpreter of La Javanaise who preferred to keep her ind&eacute ;dependence. It is therefore in a house almost similar to that of the singer that the young mixed-race girl settled ;ée from the beginning of their relationship. A property bought by Jane Birkin's ex-partner.

It's an exact copy, mahogany and black, more cozy and small. A small house with floors with balconies, stairs and a small courtyard. Serge said it was his country house. We saw each other every day, but we were in transit non-stop. I still live there”, explained Bambou, usually secretive about her private life.

Serge Gainsbourg: the house on rue de Verneuil turned into a museum

While she raised her son Lulu in this charming little home, Bambou regularly came to Serge Gainsbourg's house, located on rue de Verneuil in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. An address that became a museum under the impetus of the artist's daughter, Charlotte Gainsbourg.

“It wasimportant for Charlotte, because she was dragging tons behind her. I'm therewent three times. We have the impression that Serge will appearîto be. After his death, we came back a few times with Lulu because he wanted to go sleep there, she recounted with emotion. Opened in September 2023, Serge Gainsbourg's house contains a treasure trove of memories. With its bar and instruments, the place hasn't changed much since the artist's death 35 years ago.
