The Sûreté du Québec is investigating around ten arson attacks which were set last night in Donnacona. A mobile command post will be present in the Saint-Joseph sector to collect testimonies from citizens.

The first fire was lit around 2:30 a.m. in the trash can of a residence on Avenue des Prés. The flames spread to the carport, the parked car and the front of the house. The occupants were evacuated; no one was injured.

The other fires occurred fairly quickly thereafter, almost all in the same neighborhood, on rue Fiset and on rue de l'Église in particular, which suggests that the person could get around on foot.

Each time, the fire was lit in trash cans. Most of the time, it was brought under control quickly to prevent damage to residences. In total, four cars were set on fire, as well as two carports and the facade of a house.
