This Saturday at around 10:30 pm, a serious accident involved several vehicles. According to witnesses who came by a few minutes later, people may have died.

A very serious accident occurred on the A709, at the Vendargues exit in the Montpellier-Nîmes direction, this Saturday, December 21 at around 10:30 pm. The authorities have not yet released any information, but several vehicles were involved, including a rapid intervention vehicle from the gendarmerie.

The number of fire trucks mobilized on the scene reflected the scale of the accident. According to witnesses who came to the scene shortly after, at least five to six cars collided, apparently in two stages. The gendarmes' vehicle, immobilized in the middle lane, was in fact about 500 meters in front of the other wrecked cars, some of which looked like a pile of sheet metal.

These witnesses also indicate that the operations carried out by the emergency services suggest that the accident caused victims, at least two people died. The exact toll or the circumstances of the accident are not known at this time.

At 11:30 p.m., the rescue operations were continuing, which had a major impact on traffic.
