A trailer faithful to season 1

As a reminder, Severanceallows us to follow the adventures of Mark Scout, employee of Lumon Industries, a Tech company which works on very confidential projects. They are so sensitive that each employee must undergo surgery to separate memories linked to their private and professional lives.

In this first trailer for the season 2, we very clearly find the gloomy atmosphere of the saga, which does not displease us. This creation therefore seems faithful to its DNA and its labyrinth-shaped corridors. If the protagonists theoretically have the right to leave the premises, we quickly understand that this is an illusion. And that’s exactly what we really liked. Previously, the showrunner of the series, Dan Erickson, had already explained about the story of this suite:

In season two, we're going to show all these people on the outside. Like Mark, they all have their own reasons for having this procedure, and they're all at some point in the healing process for one thing or another (…) Seeing the other three characters' side of this dichotomy is, I think, the most exciting part.

New additions to the cast

On the casting side, Severance is banking on stability by extending its crack team. Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken and Patricia Arquette will be back in their respective roles.

But the series is not resting on its laurels too much and will introduce newcomers: John Noble (Fringe), Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Bob Balaban (The Chair), Merritt Wever (Godless), Alia Shawkat (Search Party), Robby Benson (Beauty and the Beast), Stefano Carannante (Mirabilia), and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (The Tourist).

While it is still far too early to draw definitive conclusions, this gem from Apple TV+ seems to have understood well what appealed to its audience and is putting on his strength. Given what we already know, are you, like us, enthusiastic about this season 2 ? Tell us in the comments.
