The cooperative reopens on Thursday after a month's break. Balls, headliners, emerging artists, new concept, and traditions… The team of the venue that welcomed 11,000 spectators in 2024 is launching into a new year with once again proposals for all audiences.

After a month of closure, La Moba is back in service on Thursday, with a “Happy New Year” afterwork, music and games on the program (free entry). Until the end of March, twenty-one evenings are organized. A techno session is taking place on Saturday, the 3rd of its kind, in partnership with the Association 2A Production which brings together for the occasion “five collectives from the alternative free party scene” (from 6pm, €7).

A pioneer of drum and bass, a rock group that fills festivals all over the world…

The cultural cooperative's proposals are always eclectic. Among the headliners, Didier Wampas and his friends who will delve back into the golden age of Wampas (the first two albums), on March 15; “the long-awaited return of DJ Hype” on March 8, a pioneer of jungle and drum and bass. And Stuck in the sound, on February 8: this French rock group, revealed twenty years ago, is enjoying international success, “they fill festivals in Europe as well as in the United States” , specifies Arnold Metrot, co-manager of La Moba. While it is not easy to attract the public to something they do not know, La Moba is launching the first evening of a concept that will be developed in 2025. “Themed evenings around a festive concept.” For Valentine's Day, it will be “Burnin'Valentine”, “a festive moment, with a DJ and a DJ, and entertainment (happenings, projections, etc.)” shares Nicolas André, coordinator of the structure. Arnold Métrot's big favorite is Andrick Airways (as a duo), on March 1st, “acoustic reggae, in an offbeat atmosphere. He exploded on TikTok this summer, with his hit Dans ma cabane. It's interesting to follow young people's trends”.

A rapper with a doctorate in neuroscience

Rap, on March 7th with, a rapper and influencer Pierre Hugues José, “a genius, a doctor in neuroscience. He stands out in the field. We are very happy to welcome him. He does little concerts”. Tradition is respected with a MobaDub on February 15 and RCBM Saint Patrick's Day on March 14. There will be metal with heavyweights on February 1.

Family and folk dances

Let's go for collective and popular dances that unite all generations: there will be the Bal à visages on February 19 at 3 p.m. (for children and the whole family, games and activities for the youngest), “tunes from all over the world, rhythms of all kinds”. And a trad’ball with Octopulse and Duo Kompost on February 28. The first quarter will conclude with another original date: Les Mécanos, ten musicians who explore Occitan polyphony and transform objects in the service of sound.
The last quarter 2024“was satisfactory in terms of attendance, with some nice surprises”, summarizes Arnaud Latard, head of communications. Notably the sound system evenings with OBF, the tribute to Oasis, the punk concerts and the firefighters' bodega. They all set La Moba on fire!

11,000 spectators in 2024 and a venue recognized and identified by promoters and producers

La Moba will celebrate its eighth anniversary at the end of April. It exists thanks to 38 cooperators, five partners, four employees and volunteers. “All determined to enrich the cultural base of Gard rhodanien and carry out projects with human and militant values.” The team has woven its web in the network of concert halls in Occitanie and PACA. “Producers and promoters come to us. We are really identified”, assures Arnold Métrot. “We are always looking for new energies, our call for volunteers is constant”, completes Nicolas André who joined the team a few months ago: “La Moba is an atypical place in the territory and even in France, due to its artistic, ethical and territorial project.”

In figures, La Moba in 2024 received 11,000 spectators, 108 artistic training courses, organized 65 contemporary music concerts, five shows for young audiences and a street art festival (in Goudargues). Not forgetting the cultural action component with the conservatory, the éschools…
