The TF1 show “Sept à Huit” announced on Tuesday that it had removed from all its platforms a report on a woman scammed by a fake Brad Pitt and victim of cyberbullying since the subject was broadcast on Sunday. “The report broadcast this Sunday (January 12, 2025) sparked a wave of harassment against a witness. For the protection of the victims, we have decided to remove it from our platforms”, writes the show presented by Harry Roselmack on his X account.

Named Anne and filmed on camera, the victim, aged around fifty, says she paid €830,000 to scammers who pretended to be Brad Pitt by sending her fake selfies, falsified identity documents and using artificial intelligence to dispel her doubts.

Surgery for kidney cancer

Pretending to need money to pay for an operation for kidney cancer, the fake Brad Pitt managed to extort large sums from this woman, who is now ruined and has attempted suicide three times. According to the report by “Sept à Huit”, she filed a complaint and is currently hospitalized in a facility specializing in severe depression.

Since the broadcast of the report, she has been the target of mockery by Internet users mocking her supposed credulity. TFC, the Toulouse football club, posted a message on X accompanied by a photomontage challenging the victim and making fun of her fate: “Hello Anne, Brad told us he would be at the Stadium on Wednesday for #TFCLAVAL. And you ?”. Under fire from critics, the L1 club then backtracked by presenting its “sincere apologies”.

Netflix posted a message on X listing four films available on its platform featuring the American star. “4 films to see with Brad Pitt (promised) it's a gift”, the message said. Comedian and France Inter columnist Mathieu Noël joked about Anne's fate in his post on the morning show on Tuesday.
